Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps
Two camps are provided each summer - Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps at Zilker Park is a weeklong, overnight summer camp which serves children 7-11. This camp curriculum encourages self -confidence, trust and teamwork through fun outdoor activities. Our other facility is the Red McCombs Austin YMBL Sunshine Camps at Lake Travis – This weeklong, overnight summer camp serves children 12-15. These camp sessions focus on team building and sophisticated high-ropes course activities to build self-esteem and confidence.
Austin YMBL Sunrise Programs
The Sunrise Programs serve middle and high school students with the ultimate goals of teaching high- potential, low-income youth important skills to help them graduate high school, participate in some form of post secondary education, and become successful adults in their community; skills such as leadership, communication, problem solving, and conflict resolution. In addition, the Sunrise Programs have a strong focus on academic success. This does not always mean every student must receive straight A’s; yet, we teach our students to set individual, attainable goals.
